My latest project is a bit different for me, a series of very shadowed pieces, with a dark and sexual tone. For these, I tossed aside my usual aversion to black paper... and I really like it. These works are on half sheets and are close up shots, a departure from my more elaborate full scenes. The originals as well as limited edition Studio prints are available for purchase.

2009 Calendar
It looks like Bruno Gmünder will be publishing a 2009 calendar of my artwork. The content and cover is still being decided, but if all goes well they should be out around the beginning of September. I'll keep ya posted!

Last year I had the wonderful opportunity of having a book of my work published, Summer Moved On, a pictorial presentation of my works by Bruno Gmünder. On the Drawing Board is a behind the scenes companion of sorts to Summer Moved On. It is filled with in-progress images and commentary on many of those works and others. While I chronicle my journey to becoming a self-employed published artist I share insights into my inspirations, motivations, and process, answering many of those questions I am often asked. This weekend, May 2-4 is the ArtUndressed event in downtown Miami. Along with artwork featured in the Erotic Signature books, including 2 of mine, there will be live bands and Deejays; Erotic and Fetish Fashion; and over 60 erotic performers, dancers, and talents. Click here for tickets.

Sponsor me in the MS Walk

My good friend Jenny was diagnosed with MS a few years ago. Shes fun, good natured and loves ballroom dancing! (You go girl!) She's got a team, aptly called Keep on Dancing that will take part in the MS Challenge Walk, a 3-day, 50-mile walk this September. Edward and I have joined the team and will be walking alongside Jenny. Along with walking we are raising money for research so Jenny and hundreds of thousands of others can keep on dancing.

"Closer to God"

The issue of growing up both Catholic and gay, then turning away from a religion whose leaders pass judgment and preach that being gay is immoral, is one that I have wanted to deal with in my artwork for years, but I never quite knew how to capture it. I found new focus and motivation after Pope Benedict's recent praise of states that passed marriage discrimination laws, and his upcoming visit to the US this month. I figured if he is coming here, then I am going there (at least with my artwork). So thank you Benny for inspiring me to use St. Peter's Basilica as the setting for my couple.

I finished my taxes (what a nightmare), and to celebrate I'm knocking 20% off all Gallery Prints (these are the full size reproductions) from now through April 15th. Hopefully you're getting a refund. Being self employed, that is one thing I miss!

New England International Erotic Art Festival
The second annual festival is coming up June 6-8 in Provincetown. I plan to have three works in the show. Along with artwork the weekend event includes performance art and film, and an erotic fashion show.

With this being April, "Rainstorm" was an obvious choice to be my featured piece. All prints and magnets of it are 15% off through the end of the month.

"Hoodie"

For quite some time I had been tossing around the idea of an uncut guy wearing little more than a hoodie. I admit it, I'm a big fan of the double entendre. And hey, it always helps to have a name picked out before I even start the piece. And due to the anonymous nature of the garment, I thought the perfect setting would be a cruisy college basement restroom.

ARTundressed - Miami, May 2nd -4th
Erotic Signature is taking the show on the road. The folks behind "The Greatest Erotic Art of Today Volumes 1 & 2" are putting together an exhibit featuring many of the works entered into their last two book competitions. I am sending gallery prints of "Early to Rise" (this year's Viewers Choice Award winner... many thanks to those who voted for me) and "Business Trip".

The tour kicks off in Miami Florida with a two day event which includes all aspects of erotic art; Live bands and Deejays; Erotic and Fetish Fashion; and over 60 erotic performers, dancers, and talents. Tickets start at $15 for admission to the exhibit, and go up to $95 for the VIP all-inclusive package.

Escape - Provincetown July 9th - 22nd
The theme and title for my summer show in Provincetown this year is Escape. I will have many new originals on display, as well as some works that I'll be debuting just for the show. I hope you all can make it and say hi.

The reception is Friday evening, July 11th.
